Welcome to DTP

The Digital Telepresence Platform (DTP Technologies, LLC), is Rob Colbert's personal digital playground. I use this site as a place to build a web-native publishing platform known as DTP Sites. The engine supports blogging, podcasting and audio, games, commenting, a newsroom, and more. It's not open source, and 3rd-party development is not welcomed or supported at this time.

It's still early days, and I'll be ramping up my publishing here in the days & weeks to come. I want to write and podcast more about topics that matter to me, and I want to host that content myself without relying on any 3rd-party tech or services. I'm also using this system as the "host" for developing a web-native video game arcade that uses BitcoinSV for micro-payments to play games.

Podcasting

I'll be using the Sites engine to host podcasts, which I hope to start publishing as often as daily when I have a lot to present. I'll also be posting long-form videos here that present a variety of information about the platform, tech in general, and animations I create in Blender.

Games

Things are just getting started with the DTP Playables engine, a game engine I am building now. The first game, Galactic Xcavator, was launched on Thanksgiving, November 28, 2024. Playables are unique in that they can be played ON Gab.com in a post. They embed directly into the post, and you can play the complete game right there on Gab, and also here on the game's page. You can share the link to Galactic Xcavator on Gab, and then people can play it right there on your timeline.

The games are written directly to the DOM using WebGL/WebGPU, Web Audio API, the Gamepad API, and other browser-native features. They make use of BitcoinSV via the HandCash Connect SDK, enabling players to "insert coin" and pay $0.25/play. There's nothing else to download, and nothing to keep updated over time. The games run right here in the browser.

Live Streaming

I will soon be adding live streaming to this site, and this is the only place where I will live stream. This is not an open platform, and will not become a "multi-channel network" like services I've operated in the past.

I will have a channel for presenting this technology, showcasing new games and updtes to them, watch parties for various events happening online, and more. My wife Amy will also have a channel for hosting her movie nights and other fun get-togethers with her friends.

Newsroom

DTP Newsroom monitors various online information sources, ingests their articles and posts, and makes them searchable here. It provides a variety of news from a variety of sources, making that information shareable across Gab, BlueSky, and X. I'm not personally on X and won't be. My "home" platform is Gab, and you can follow me here. As time passes, I will be publishing less media on Gab and more here.
